We are looking for a Spray Technician or a recently qualified turf tradesperson, looking for the next step in their career. Our roles give you the opportunity to work on a variety of sites – no two days are the same. You’ll be working on a range of sports fields and parks using modern, state of the art equipment for spraying and transporting the machinery.
Experience in the turf industry is necessary along with some chemical knowledge, the ability to solve problems and work in a variety of environments. This role involves working in both small teams and as a solo operator. Our work includes turf maintenance of sports fields and parks on private and council sites across south east QLD.
Generally, we start and finish our days at our base in Yatala. Daily travel, some overnight shifts and some overnight stays can be required, due to the locations of some sites and client/job requirements - allowances paid. Our daily work sites range from Coolangatta to Noosa and out to Ipswich. All members of our team should be prepared to work in different departments when and if required.
Our roles are full time, and offer annual leave, personal leave and RDO hours. We also offer paid training for the right candidates. Please see below for the key skills and qualifications Austspray is looking for:
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Minimum Cert lll Horticulture (Sports Turf Management) or similar;
- Manual drivers licence;
- Blue/White Card;
- Golf course or sports field experience essential;
- Some grass species, weed and pest identification skills;
- Some experience and knowledge of chemical products and their uses;
- Proven experience in spraying.
Desirable Skills/ Qualifications:
- ACDC Licence (or able to obtain);
- MR licence (or able to obtain);
- First Aid and CPR Certificate;
- Working With Children card.
We hold accreditation in international standards of operation (ISO) in Quality Management, Health & Safety and Environmental Management. We operate under a smoke and drug free work environment policy, and our employees are required to undertake pre-employment and random drug testing periodically.
