This is your opportunity to work directly with a newly established laboratory for a well-respected State Government client, based in Newcastle.
This exciting position is initially a 6 month contract role with the potential of the role duration being extended further for the right candidate.
About the role:
The Technical Officer conducts and supervises laboratory and/or field operations for investigations, testing, trials and construction in the geotechnical, materials or pavements areas. The primary objective of the Lab Technician is to provide accurate and reliable information for road infrastructure development, construction, operation and maintenance.
Ideal candidates will have the following:
- Experienced in undertaking routine and specialist laboratory and field tests in accordance with RMS, Australian Standard and other Test Methods.
- Ability to conduct and supervise, a broad range of investigation techniques and field operations for geotechnical, pavements and road materials investigations.
- An understanding of WHS, quality system, environmental and Traffic Control procedures.
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques as a minimum qualification
