Histopathology Scientist

Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity for a Scientist to work full time in Histopathology department of the Cairns Laboratory. This is a temporary position until February 2019 with the possibility of further employment for a suitable candidate. We are seeking experienced candidates but individuals with no experience are encouraged to apply.
Applicants will possess appropriate tertiary qualifications and duties include dissection, embedding, microtomy, specimen reception and other tasks as required.
Working conditions and remuneration are as per the Sullivan and Nicolaides Pathology CWA3 and will be commensurate with experience.
Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work effectively unsupervised or as part of a team and attention to detail are essential to the position.
Shifts range from 05:00 – 21:30 Monday to Friday and the department is supported locally by two on-site anatomical pathologists.
