An opportunity exists for a Data Scientist to join our well established Business Intelligence division, responsible for predictive analysis and interrogation of nib’s big data sources, harvesting vast amounts of meaningful data to deliver strategic and actionable insights and drive business outcomes.

What you’ll do
This role will see you use a range of tools and methods including statistical, machine learning and advanced analytics to interpret and enhance consumer data into strategically driven models, hence optimising customer benefits and affinity with nib.
You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver analytic ‘super-insights’ with a view to integrate into core systems as efficiently as we can, whilst also identifying new data sources that complements existing information to continuously improve and develop useable, insightful outputs.
You will remain in touch with developments to Data Science methodologies, continually ensuring we are ‘best of breed’ when it comes to predictive and strategic analytics.
About You
Your demonstrated experience in a data science advanced analytical role, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or similar, will ensure your success in this role. Previous experience within insurance/medical industries would be advantageous but not essential.
You possess a high level of expertise in in R/Python/ SQL and off-the-shelf statistical software, including experience in the use of Tableau, Power BI or other visualisation software. Utilising this experience, you will have shown the ability to solve complex problems and assist in automating/integrating analytics into core systems and commercial production.
You are passionate about working closely with stakeholders and consider yourself as someone who can build rapport across a wide range of stakeholders well. You possess first class organisational, presentation and communication skills.
