Local Government Organisation requires a Coordinator of Property Services to support the Manager of Property.
Your new company
Our client is a local Government organisation that is responsible for delivering a range of key functions to the community. The Property division is responsible for the overall management of a varied and diverse portfolio comprising of commercial, retail, residential, community centres, childcare centres, administrative buildings as well as heritage properties, parks and recreational areas.
Your new role
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Manager of Property giving high level and professional advice on all property related aspects of the Organisations portfolio.
Key accountabilities:
- Overseeing the property and land acquisition process whilst maintaining Council interests.
- Strategic property development advice of Council owned land from initial planning stages through to sale.
- Timely and accurate reporting of all financial data of leased and licenced premises and their performance on a monthly basis.
- Oversee the management and development of Council's leased properties including commercial, retail, community and residential property portfolios. This includes the identification and implementation of opportunities to expand the commercial portfolio and the return on assets.
- Manage the capital expenditure programme and ensure maintenance works are undertaken in a timely manner to meet business partners and legislative requirements.
- Manage the operations of Council managed cemeteries and road and laneway closures.
- Maintain high level client relationships in particular with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant qualifications in a property related field such as Bachelor of Business in Land Economy or an equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role with equivalent 5 years relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in property and land acquisition, land development and other property related activities.
- Proven experience in the development process including due diligence, feasibility analysis, land acquisition, land development and sales.
- A solid understanding of relevant legislation and local government act.
