We are currently recruiting for an Asset Officer for our client, a community based not-for-profit based in Hurstville. This is a full time, permanent role and the salary package is $88k - $92k + super and salary packaging.
Reporting directly to the Manager Assets, the Asset Officer is a technical position with an operational focus that supports all the asset management functions across the property lifecycle from acquiring, planning, management, delivery to disposals. The role also requires the undertaking of condition and quality audit procedures such as desktop and on-site auditing. This position is responsible for the management of the Maintenance Handyperson role, however this responsibility may be subject to change to meet current or future business needs and objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, co-ordinate and conduct property condition and quality audits to ensure Multi-trade Contractors meet KPIs
• Work with the Manager Assets in developing and implementing the organisation’s asset maintenance plan and system
• Monitor and update the planned maintenance program
• Develop and maintain the asset register, run tracking sheet and maintenance scheduling
• Carry out inspection of works to ensure compliances with code of conduct, local government statutory and WHS requirements
• Manage all aspect of building repairs and modifications including scoping, site inspections, scheduling supervising works and sign off on work scopes and handovers
• Be actively involved in the handover of properties
• Provide advice on the most appropriate allocation of resources for planned and programmed works.
Experience Required
• Good experience in identifying building faults, conducting condition and quality audits and managing maintenance work
• Knowledge and experience on audit procedures and practice
• Experience in the practical application of asset management principles
• Experience in dealing with contracts and contractors
• Sound Project Management skills.
• Appropriate technical qualifications in Carpentry trade, Clerk of Works or Tertiary related building discipline or equivalent 10 year asset related type building experience
• Understanding of Australian Standards, BCA and statutory requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles and functions of project management, including the flexibility to move between different projects
• Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Word, MS Project and Excel is a must
• Excellent report writing skills appropriately targeted to different audiences e.g. stakeholders.
• A current Drivers Licence
