The Transaction Support Team is responsible for negotiating and executing lease documentation to support the lease strategy for all new and existing leases across the CBA property retail and ATM portfolio.
Do work that matters:
You will play a key role in managing critical dates, and negotiating lease documents across the national retail portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring all transactions are delivered on time and in line with CBA’s baseline requirements to protect CBA’s lease interests and tenure at all times.
The role will have accountability for documenting Retail Bank and Business Bank leases as well as providing advice on lease provisions, your responsibilities will include:
- Instructing CBA’s panel lawyers on lease transactions (including agreements for lease, leases and licences)
- Negotiating lease documentation (in conjunction with external legal counsel) to ensure the Retail Banking & Business Banking renewal and program targets are met and all critical dates adhered to
- Managing the sign off and execution of lease documents in accordance with all delegations and CBA’s power of attorney
- Interpreting lease clauses and providing advice to the Retail Leasing Managers
- Assisting the Retail Leasing Managers in the conduct of sales and acquisitions of freehold property, market rent reviews, and any legal disputes
- Managing critical dates, and providing matter reports.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably with major landlord experience
- A law or property degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Sound understanding of property contracts, the retail tenancy legislation and other property laws
- Excellent customer service and analytical skills.
