The opportunity and role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a positive, energetic and highly motivated experienced Lawyer (Ideally 2-3 years PAE) to join our Superannuation practice group in Melbourne CBD.
Our team works closely with clients who have superannuation Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) or private disability insurance claims following an injury or illness to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Critical to this role will be forging strong links with internal and external stakeholders.
your responsibilities will include
- Provide clear, practical and concise advice to clients on rejected and litigated matters
- Interpreting and providing advice on a range of superannuation trust deeds and insurance policies
- Provide a tailored approach to clients in order to understand their matter
- Drafting correspondence and legal submissions
- Identifying practical and innovative solutions for clients
- Maintain and build new client relationships for the practice
To be successful
To be successful in this role the candidate will ideally have a proven understanding of Superannuation disability insurance entitlements and have previous file management experience.
Your background will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative, ownership and an ability to work within a team environment.
The following attributes and skills will ensure your ongoing success:
- Experience in Superannuation or TPD (ideally 2+ years PAE)
- Litigation experience
- Knowledge of Victorian civil proceedures
- Knowledge of superannuation and financial alternative dispute resolution options
- Exceptional negotiation skills coupled with a high attention to detail
- Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
