About the business

Blackwell Short Lawyers is a growing regional firm within the Central West area of New South Wales. We require a legal practitioner to manage, lead and operate the conveyancing section. This is an opportunity for the successful applicant to develop a specialised legal area and team leader skills.

About the role

Key Tasks are:

• Manage conveyancing files autonomously
• Conduct relevant property searches and enquiries
• Liaising with banks, solicitors, conveyancers and agents regarding settlement
• Regular meetings with clients to review contract for sale documentation
• Undertake client file administration and maintenance
• Attend to State Revenue Office online stamping
• Manage general, commercial and contractual matters
• Detailed review, negotiate and draft a range of conveyancing, business and commercial contracts
• Drafting comprehensive letters of advice on Contracts for Sale terms
• Advise businesses on a variety of legal, risk and regulatory matters
• Allocation and delegating tasks to the conveyancing team and monitoring progress of conveyancing matters
• Ensure the firm is up to date with conveyancing law developments and including resultant precedent development

Skills and experience

All candidates should have:

• 2 years + experience
• Excellent client relationship skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• High attention to detail
• Electronic conveyancing
• Ability to conduct research and analysis legal problems
• Strong computer skills
• Current drivers licence
