We represent one of the world's leading law firms.

As a result of growth within their Employment practice in Sydney, they are now looking to recruit a senior associate (ideally with solid WH&S experience) to their rapidly expanding team.

Employment

The Sydney Employment team collectively provide the full range of workplace relations and employment law services and advise some of Australia's leading corporations and businesses. 

It is a relatively small team comprising of three partners nationally and a number of other senior practitioners. They are a close knit and hardworking team with one of the lowest turnover of staff across the firm. 

They have an enviable client list across the financial services, state and federal government departments, infrastructure, FMCG, technology, manufacturing and telecommunications industries.

Position Description

This position is due to growth within the practice generally. 

You will work most closely with one partner and other senior resources in the team, meaning that you will get the benefit of autonomy and responsibility, whilst also receiving excellent mentoring and support.

This role will be evenly split between Workplace Health & Safety and broader employment law including:

• business transfers and restructures (including redundancy);
• Defending a large number of high profile safety prosecutions;
• awards, agreements and industrial relations;
• employee performance and conduct;
• employment disputes;
• enterprise agreements;
• termination of employment; and
• full gamut of WH&S.

Requirements

They are looking for a Senior Associate Employment and Workplace Health & Safety lawyer from a reputable Australian practice. Given current focus from regulators on safety prosecutions, having prior experience in WH&S matters will place you at an advantage.

In addition, you will have:

• a keen interest in becoming a specialist in employment law;
• a developing commercial awareness; and
• a proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
