Client Details

A leading global bank is seeking a legal counsel to join their group legal team. The role will be supporting the General Counsel and legal team to provide legal advice across a number of business units. This opportunity offers the chance to be an integral part of a high performing and collegiate legal team.

Description

This will be a varied role supporting the growing Australian and International business;

• Providing advice to their retail banking and wealth management business units
• Advising on legal and regulatory developments
• Assisting with implementation of legal policies and risk management
• Providing legal advice to operations, service and technology functions
• Managing relationships with senior management and panel law firms

Profile

Key Requirements:

• Ideally have a minimum of 3 years PAE gained within a renowned law firm or financial institution
• Experience of retail banking, corporate and securities law
• Knowledge of the Australian banking and financial services legal regime
• Strong commercial contracts experience will be viewed favourably
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities
