Leading government department has an immediate need for an experienced Paralegal to support the in-house litigation team. You will provide a range of paralegal and administrative services that support the efficient and effective delivery of legal service conducted by the Litigation team.

The role
- Provide timely and flexible support to the Litigation team by undertaking administrative tasks and other duties
- Assist with the engagement of external legal providers via the Legal Panel Gateway
- Provide initial contact point services, together with information, advice and escalation where necessary to the appropriate person for resolution
- Conduct legal research and assist with file reviews
- Create and maintain accurate records for the team in accordance with records management policies and procedures and confidentiality /privacy requirements
To be considered
- Proven paralegal experienced
- Ideally you will have worked on New South Wales Workers Compensation / personal Injury law files
- Understanding of personal injury law
- Professional presentation
- Exceptional communication skills
- Sound knowledge of legal terminology and principles
- An understanding of the research associated with legislation and legal precedents
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience in a customer facing environment and ability / confident in being the first point of contact
- Financial services experience is highly regarded but not essential
