About the business
Dandanis & Associates is a law firm providing legal services in the areas of finance, property and commercial law and has extensive litigation practice.
An opportunity with an excellent remuneration package now exists for a self-sufficient Commercial / Property Lawyer with 2 years plus post admission experience in Commercial or property work. The position is for a 12 month contract.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work directly with the partners who are very experienced and respected in commercial litigation and commercial law.
Responsibilities
- Advising clients in relation to the acquisition and disposal of businesses and leasing.
- Drafting Sale of Business Contracts, Leases and various commercial agreements.
- Facilitating settlement of sale or purchase of business transactions.
- Preparing and submitting applications to Office of Small Business Commissioner (Retail Leasing disputes) and VCAT (Building and Property List).
- Advising clients in relation to commercial litigious matters in various jurisdictions, including preparation and filing of court documents.
- Drafting Banking and Mortgage documentation.
Requirements
- 2-5 years post admission experience in Commercial / Property law matters is essential.
- Strong academic credentials, analytical ability and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Be able to handle file autonomously, with efficiency and great attention to detail.
- Be a confident and competent communicator who enjoys client contact.
- Wishes to gain a broader experience in commercial litigation/commercial law.
- Time management skills
- Pro-active, able to multi task and strong attention to detail.
- A team player with a flexible working attitude.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and computer packages.
Please note this is not a graduate position and the applicant must be a permanent resident and have a minimum of 2 years post admission experience.
