Our client is a leading Barristers Chambers based in beautiful state of the art offices in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.  Over the last two years they have experienced significant growth and now house over 30 Barristers.  In addition to a great working environment, they offer a supportive culture and an enjoyable place to work. 
 
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Manager to lead and support the team.  This is a busy and varied role that will see you managing all aspects of Chambers.  
 
Duties will include:
  • Liaising with all Barristers to assist with the development of their practices
  • Assist Barristers with work flow and day to day Court obligations
  • Supervise, recruit and mentor staff, staff rosters
  • Maintaining general appearance and tidiness of Chambers
  • Implement floor and workplace policies
  • Identifying and implementing new processes
  • Develop marketing budgets and strategies
  • Update and maintain floor websites / social media
  • Organise and attend floor functions and CPD seminars
  • Maintaining office equipment and ordering stationary
  • Delivering mail to Barristers
  • Oversee Accounts / bookkeeping and financial reporting
 
The Candidate
To qualify for this role you must have:
  • 5 years’ minimum relevant experience
  • Previous experience of managing a busy law practice or Chambers
  • Knowledge of managing a business involving Litigation Lawyers or Barristers
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage a team effectively
  • Impeccable communication, networking and organisation skills
  • The willingness to be versatile and cover duties of other staff members
  • A positive and friendly manner, happy to liaise at all levels and provide mentorship
  • Previous experience of Accounts and Bookkeeping
  • Previous experience of organising events
  • Advanced MS Office skills
