The Role

The role of the Building Coordinator is to work within the Property Claims department to build and maintain repairer relationships, to monitor and audit repairer performance and to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through the delivery of repairs to our insurance customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review scope of works and expert reports to ensure that the most cost effective and timely methodology of repairs is being utilised to conduct repairs,
  • Assist internal and external assessing teams with technical and time related issues associated to repairs and rectification issues,
  • Liaise with internal performance team regarding panel builder performance,
  • Support the project management of more complex repairs,
  • Effectively manage relationships with customers, assessors, tradespeople, builders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with site inspections to determine if SOW is being adhered to, safe work practices are being implemented, and quality repairs are being conducted,
  • Liaise with local authorities and third-party building surveyors regarding compliance issues and ensure repairs comply with relevant BCA and/or Australian standards,
  • Support Assessors by liaising with panel builders on critical path scheduling and overcoming site restraints to meet claim life targets,
  • Achieve KPI targets based on customer satisfaction, repair cost and repair life targets.

Skills & Experience

  • Residential building/renovation and extensive estimating experience is essential
  • Experience in estimating, scheduling and supervising trades and repairs
  • Trade qualification in a repair related discipline or Domestic Builders License
  • Residential building code knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of the property repair industry and current repair practices
