The opportunity

The Technical Service Officer role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of older accident year claims as well as providing technical support to our Case Managers in our Canberra office. The successful candidate will be a supportive and proactive mentor and provide coaching and guidance for best practice in line with legislation and common law.

The role will also be required to conduct quality reviews across the Canberra portfolio as well as proactively manage the branch finalisation targets.  

 

What does success look like?

The suitable candidate will have strong ACT legislation knowledge, understanding of the legal system, be an experienced Case Manager and leadership skills would be advantageous.

You will possess:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Workers Compensation claims
  • Sound technical capability, we are looking for an individual to provide exceptional advice
  • A strong focus on applying your current skills to improve the performance of the overall end-to-end claims management function
  • A highly empathetic and supportive approach to dealing with customers, possessing the ability to be friendly yet professional
  • A modern approach to improving the business and a willingness to accept change
  • Self-motivated with organisational and communication skills
