Following a review of our organisational structure, we are excited to announce the introduction of a number of new positions in our Trustee office based in Canberra.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Operations, the Claims Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of member insurance claims and ensures that insurance claims are appropriately managed according to legislative and regulatory obligations.  This role is also responsible for the management and coordination of complaints and responses through the SCT/AFCA. 

The successful applicant will bring the following experience, and educational requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in insurance, business, commerce or a related discipline and Diploma in Superannuation;
  • Experience in managing claims and leading small claims team;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex claims including assessing, investigating, reviewing, negotiating and determining claims
  • Knowledge and understanding of claims management strategies to achieve effective claims outcomes;
  • Experience interpreting and consulting on aspects of the legislation, regulations, policies and performance standards relating to claims;
  • Experience in effective and successful problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making techniques;
  • An understanding of legislation and the regulatory environment in which this position functions;
  • A sound understanding of APRA requirements;
  • Maintain and promote high ethical standards and integrity.
