Do work that matters

You will join our CommInsure General Insurance (GI) Pricing & Analytics division as a senior member of the team, and assume responsibility for leading insurance pricing projects across the GI line of business. Your role will encompass a hands-on approach to pricing analysis and modelling, working closely with your colleagues in the GI Pricing and Analytics team to achieve optimum outcomes to strategic insurance projects.

The General Insurance line of business within CommInsure underwrites home and motor insurance products offered through branch, contact centre and online channels to over 850,000 customers.

On any given day you will

• Specifying, building and operating pricing models to meet business needs, including the development of new approaches and techniques
• Leading the development of repeatable technical pricing processes by leveraging off both internal and external data
• Producing accurate and reliable monitoring and forecasting to support decision making and action planning
• Communicating and presenting analytical results to senior management and stakeholders
• Building and maintaining effective working relationship with key stakeholders
• Undertaking ad-hoc data driven analysis to support business operations
• Assist with developing the capability of others through effective coaching and mentoring
• Support managers in fostering a positive team culture

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

• Nearly/newly qualified actuary with 2+ years’ of relevant experience
• An undergraduate degree in actuarial studies, mathematics or statistics
• Knowledge in statistical and data programming tools such as SAS, SQL, R, EMBLEM
• Ability to deconstruct complex problems, identify direct relevancy to the business and create innovative solutions with a strong commercial acumen
• Ability to communicate insights in a clear and concise manner that is tailored to the audience
