Journeyman is an exciting Melbourne cafe with a reputation for specialty coffee and an unique menu. Our goal is to provide a friendly environment for our guests to enjoy food and coffee offering of the highest standard. Located in the vibrant heart of Chapel St in Windsor, we are searching for a young, energetic, hard working head chef to join our friendly team.
The roles and responsibilities of the head chef are:
- managing the day to day running of the kitchen
- prepping and cooking
- design menu and specials using seasonal produce on a regular basis.
- ordering and food cost control
- training and help other team members to develop skill
A successful candidate must have the following attributes:
- must have worked in high turnover a la carte settings for at least 5 years
- must have worked as head chef for at least one year or a sous chef at reputable establishments for at least two years
- must work well under pressure
- must be organised and efficient
- candidate with fine dining experience preferred
- commitment to high quality
- have desire to learn and develop skills
- a team leader that motivates team members and help them to develop skills
- reliable and hardworking
- creative and passionate about food
- young and energetic
