CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Arrive at work on time in the correct attire, conforming with the Brisbane Marriott Hotel grooming LSOP.

  • Obtain a solid knowledge of the hotel product, including room types, rates, food and beverage outlets and other hotel features and guest facilities.

  • Support and abide with the Brisbane Marriott Hotel LSOP’s pertaining to Anti–Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Equal Employment Opportunity and Guarantee of Fair Treatment.

  • Perform all duties to satisfy the Marriott “Business Ethics” value system of integrity, fairness, respect, honesty and trust.

  • Be aware of all environmental practices, policies and procedures and implement these on a daily basis.

  • Be aware and adhere to all Brisbane Marriott Hotel Work Health and Safety and Security policies and procedures.

  • Perform any reasonable task as requested by management.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrive for work punctually and wear the correct uniform at all times

  • Assist in the overall supervision of the Catering Food & Beverage Attendants when on shift or when assigned to a particular function/event.

  • Oversee any designated set ups and break down of functions and that all detailed requests as per function sheet are met.

  • Ensure function rooms are reset properly and to the required standard after a function is completed.

  • Provide a high standard, courteous and professional level of Food & Beverage service to our guests.

  • Assist in the setting up and breakdown of functions.

  • Conduct pre-function checklists and briefings to ensure set up and service levels are to the required standard and specifications

  • Liaise with the function organiser during service to ensure all requests are being met.

  • Assist in the preparation of various reports required by the Events Operations Manager.

  • Communicate using the department ‘log book’, documenting any guest or associate comments, covers and revenue.

  • Follow all SOP’s and LSOP’s pertaining to cash handling.

  • Handle any guest incidents or complaints in a professional and timely manner and report to the Events Operations Manager or Director of Food & Beverage for action to be taken.

  • Closely monitor the standards of grooming and hygiene within the department.

  • Maintain a good working relationship with work colleagues and all other departments in the hotel.

  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

  • Have a complete understanding of, and adhere to, the hotel’s policies relating to fire, security, health and safety.

  • Attend Catering training sessions and make recommendations on training needs within the department.

  • Champion the ’15 Minutes of Training’ on a daily basis within the department.

  • Have a complete understanding of the hotel’s Associate Handbook and adhere to the regulations contained within.

  • The hotel requires that you will follow established Workplace Health & Safety rules and regulations and demonstrate duty of care to all our associates.

  • Perform any other duties as requested by senior management.
