Position: 
Due to company expansion, we are currently seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our Hotel Accommodation Purchasing Team based in the Sydney CBD Office. This position is suitable for candidates with previous experience in this field, however we will consider a candidate who has genuine interest in the tourism industry. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain good relations with accommodation suppliers in Australia;
  • Monitor the number of rooms available in the system and make a purchase when necessary;
  • Advise and report to Purchasing Manager on the status of room availability;
  • Maintain hotel tariffs in a database;
  • Supply information on accommodation to the JTB Planning Team on a daily basis;
  • Research information on accommodation and best hotels in Australia;
  • Input information on Australian hotels to Japanese brochures in Japanese;
  • Provide general support to other team members.

Essential Criteria:

  • Attention to detail;
  • Well developed planning skills;
  • Ability to learn JTB internal systems;
  • Ability to build good relations with supplier;
  • Team player;
  • Fluent spoken & written Japanese language skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Travel / Hospitality / Hotel industry experience
