Due to recent growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced Chef to work on a flexible basis across a number of homes located in the Eastern Suburbs.
About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for preparation and delivery of high quality nutritious meals to residents whilst ensuring a high standard of food safety is maintained, supervising a dedicated team of staff, menu planning, stock control and ordering. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Preparation, presentation and serving of high quality food to residents in accordance with food safety legislation
- Leading and managing a team of qualified Food Services Assistants
- Ensuring compliance with the food safety plan at all times
- Menu planning ensuring the provision of choice for residents and diet requirements
- Maintaining accurate kitchen documentation
- Maintaining appropriate stock and overseeing ordering
- Ensuring the kitchen area and equipment is cleaned and maintained to an appropriate standard
- Developing and maintaining key relationships with residents, staff and facility management.
About you:
- Trade or equivalent qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience cooking in Aged Care
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple sites
- Demonstrated experience in ordering and budget management
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of diverse and modified dietary requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for food and the preparation of appetising and nutritious meals for our residents.
