Goodness Gracious Cafe is on the hunt for our next COMMIS CHEF to work in our busy kitchen. Joining our established team of culinary enthusiasts, infatuation for damn good food, and creatives for something a bit different.
Our Commis Chef will have passion for perfect consistency from prep to plate, even on days when you’re pushing bulk avo’ on toast. Making sure the menu is as perfect on day 1 as it stands on day 100. What it all boils down to though, is someone dedicated to working hard in a team of passionate people, that gives you a chance to grow in your culinary profession.
The nitty gritty;
- you’ll be working alongside our Sous Chef and Pastry Chef and the rest of the kitchen team
- provide support to all areas of the kitchen and occasionally lending a hand to FOH to run a meal out if we are super busy
- manage time effectively to ensure prep is completed for the day and meals are served quickly for our guests
- passion and pride in what you plate up is a must, along with an enthusiastic approach to your work
- be able to hold down the fort for 2 days when the Sous Chef is off
You must have had Commis Chef experience. But whatever your experience, we hire on quality and cultural fit, not on how long you’ve had a title for. This is a fair work-place, so theres no room for egos.
