Chu the Phat is a State of the Art massive restaurant in South Brisbane.

Featuring 3 levels, 2 kitchens, 300 seat restaurant, 2 bars & laneway dining.

Chu the Phat is inspired by the streets of Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong and Executive Chef Brendon Barker of the renowned Brisbane restaurant Madame Wu.

We are looking for talented, passionate and dedicated staff to fill the following positions:

  • Chef de Parties
  • Commis Chefs
  • Apprentices (all levels)

These roles are a vital part of a young dynamic environment and team. They represent great career opportunities for chefs with proven experience in similar roles who are eager to advance their skills in a modern environment and apprentices with a dedicated passion for the industry.

To be considered for these exciting positions, you must possess the following:

  • Trade qualifications
  • Excellent technical knowledge with experience in all cooking techniques and styles
  • Experience leading staff during service
  • Ability to maintain high and consistent standards
  • Excellent organisational skills & grooming standards
  • Understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP
  • You will have a valid working visa / residency - this is essential to this role. We do not consider short-term applicants. 
  • Your CV must have professional referees with both email and updated telephone numbers included
  • Flexible availability of a 7 day/night roster

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a natural talent for cooking and passion to serve modern fine dining food in a casual environment. A background in a similar environment would be beneficial, but not necessary
