Purple Peanuts Japanese Café is seeking a full time qualified sushi chef for our very busy Melbourne CBD store.
We have now reached a stage where we want to further improve our food quality & variety to help us become better & eventually expand our business model of Japanese food, sushi, corporate sushi catering, Japanese influenced cakes & great coffee.
On that basis the sushi chef applicant needs to have significant attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of all sushi and sashimi preparation skills, including the handling of whole fresh fish. Previous experience in a sushi bar or Japanese restaurant prepare sushi, maki rolls, packs etc is essential.
We are not really interested in copying existing food menus already in available in Melbourne, hence need someone with a background of traditional Japanese food, but also have the ability to modernize these dishes..as is already occurring in Japan today.
Hours of work are flexible but generally Mon-Fri 7-5.
Wages will be pending skill review, but attractive bonuses and profit share will also be available for the right candidate.
For the right person, a 457 Business Visa Sponsorship will be considered on the basis you already live in Australia. We will not consider any applicant living outside of the country.
