With a strong community presence, the Phillip Island RSL caters to a diverse demographic of members and guests.
We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and suitably experienced General Manager to drive and build the business.
About the role
Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will possess:
- An appreciation of the RSL brand and what it stands for
- The ability to consistently achieve outstanding revenue and profit results
- A high level of business and financial acumen
- A team player with an easy going nature, you will have the ability to think strategically to focus on what is best for the organisation and our members and guests at all times
- Clearly demonstrated leadership, communication and management of your employees with a strong emphasis on the provision of exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of marketing and promotions (Internal & External)
- Be able to develop ideas and create new initiatives, operate decisively under pressure and meet deadlines in a busy commercial environment
- A friendly, engaging, independent and motivated person
- Excellent organisational skills with a willingness and ability to work with the Board in setting, implementing, measuring and evolving all operational areas
- Knowledge and experience in ensuring all relevant statutory requirements are met
- Commitment to staff training and development
Skills and experience
- The successful candidate must have had previous key management roles within the hospitality industry (Minimum 5 years)
- Operational food, beverage and gaming experience
- Demonstrated hands-on approach
- Staff recruitment and retention
- Key influencing skills
- Presenting well developed analytical comment and conceptual ideas
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation including the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award, OH&S, Liquor, Food and Gaming regulatory requirements
- Proven people management skills
