About Support Services at Monash Health
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The role of General Services Coordinator is an essential member of our leadership team in our pursuit to provide an exceptional customer and staff experience within the Support Services team at our Kingston and Residential Aged Care Services sites.
Our team currently uses innovation cleaning methodologies to clean our facilities which are environmental friendly for our patients, visitors and patients.
About the Role
Reporting to the Support Services Manager for Kingston and Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) you will be responsible for the management of our Patient Services Assistants, Environmental Services and Porter teams for the Kingston Centre and our Residential Aged Care Services (RACS). The role makes a strong contribution to ensuring our teams are highly engaged and supported to provide high quality, customer focused services for our patients, visitors and staff.
Your efficient and effective communications skills and timely responses to requests for service are paramount for this position in achieving sustainable service delivery. If you have a passion for providing exceptional customer and staff experiences we want you to join our team.
To help you achieve our service delivery requirements you will have five direct reports and a team of around 100 EFT.
- Operational responsibility for the effective provision of Patient Services Assistants, Environmental Services, Waste, Linen and Porter services at Kingston Centre, Yarraman Nursing Home, Mooraleigh Hostel and Chestnut Gardens . This includes roster management, training, development and all aspects of human resource management for this workforce.
- Financial accountability for a budget of almost $5M
- Some hands on requirements are included in this position.
About you
You are an experienced hands on supervisor looking to advance your career or someone who is looking for a career change
Ideally you will possess:
- Have worked your way up in various roles within the cleaning, healthcare, hotel or hospitality environment.
- Be experienced in managing teams ensuring they are well supported
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be a solutions oriented person with the ability to lead a great team
- Have a passion for providing exceptional customer and staff experiences

What you need
- Current Working with Children’s Check
- Aged care police check
- Previous experience working as a supervisor or team leader within the cleaning, healthcare, hotel or hospitality environment.
- Formal cleaning qualifications are desirable, however not essential
- Experience in managing teams to ensure they are well supported to deliver an exceptional customer experience
