We have a position open for a relief manager to work on weekends at our backpacker accommodation facility in Childers, QLD.
Farmgate Backpackers is a dedicated accommodation provider for guests who are looking for casual labour over a period of weeks or months on properties within 60 to 90 minutes’ drive from our village. We are seeking a weekend relief manager for the facility who will live on site and work from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon on a permanent basis.
The applicant will be required to manage all aspects of an accommodation business, including the following:
- Manage the check in and check out of guests and all of the associated administration.
- Co-ordinate the transport of guests to the properties where they will be working using our fleet of vehicles
- Manage the on-site staff of drivers, cleaners, maintenance and administration personnel
- Liaise with the employers who require the casual labour and match their requirements with the guests who are seeking employment
You will report to the Executive Director of Farmgate Backpackers.
The role requires you to be flexible, be willing to work long and unusual hours over the weekend and have excellent interpersonal skills as our guests often do not have English as a first language.
A salary of $30,000 (including superannuation) plus accommodation in the house on site is being offered.
Ideally you will have experience in a similar operation, whether it be tourism related or in a working hostel and you must have an open drivers licence. An MR licence is ideal but not required. Applicants who wish to be considered will need to undergo appropriate background checks.
