OUR CENTRE

We are a small group of Centre's owned by a Brisbane family who have first-hand experience in the Child Care Industry.

We take pride in putting children first and valuing the significant contribution we are making to their lives through play based education.

Our Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor is dedicated to ensuring that children's individual needs are supported and that all children in the Centre feel safe and secure whilst they are educated in a quality, nurturing, fun environment.  The Centre Director works tirelessly to ensure she is continually improving the Centre and building a strong, dynamic, passionate team of Educator's who strive for Excellence in all that they do. 

We have a Centre Manager/Business Development Manager who supports our Director's, and has a strong passion for children's wellbeing and education, quality improvement, business management and for supporting all staff to learn, grow and succeed. 

Our Centre at Eight Mile Plains is well resourced and licenced for 60 children, from 15 months through to Kindergarten age. 

About the role

The Position – CENTRE COOK

As a permanent Cook (Monday-Friday) at Perfect Beginnings Child Care Centre, you will be responsible for preparing all food required for children aged between 15 months and 5 years old.  You will be solely responsible for managing the Food Safety Program within the Centre as well as the Centre Food Budget.  You will be expected to carry out your duties to the highest standard including hygiene and WH&S as well as educating children and staff on the importance of Nutrition.  You will be required to manage menus, complete relevant documentation such as temperature records and all documentation required by the Food Safety Program and anything requested by the Director.

The successful applicant must:

  • have a passion for providing nutritious food for children, genuinely wanting to give them the best start to life and to educate them around all aspects of nutrition to have a positive impact on their lives and their future.
  • have a passion for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with families and the wider community.
  • have a current positive working with children check.
  • have current first aid/cpr/anaphylaxis/asthma.
  • have completed, or be willing to obtain, a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • have a working understanding of the National Law & Regulations and the National Quality Framework.
  • have a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
  • have a strong level of professionalism and an understanding of professional boundaries.
  • have a strong desire to continually improvement and strive for Excellence (as an individual and as a team).
  • have sound professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • experience as a Child Care Educator is not required but desirable.
