About the business
We at the Fiddler Pub P/Ltd trading as "The Bottom End" are seeking an experienced Duty Manager - Functions to join our team on a full time basis, in a role that includes day, night and weekend shifts.

As part of our team you will be responsible for running the hotel when on duty, overseeing all operations of the venue relevant to functions.
About the role
Position Requirements
- Staff Management
- Recruit personnel in accordance with the hotel's recruitment policy
- Effectively consult and communicate with staff to enhance development and focus on common goals
- Identify, develop and deliver training targeted towards enhancing the customer experience and operational excellence
- Conduct effective 1:1 meetings and annual performance reviews
- Ensure effective and efficient rostering and payroll coordination in line with organizational requirements
- Ensure that staff adhere to the hotel's values, principles and procedures such as OH&S requirements
- Operational Management
- Attend weekly operation meetings to review, monitor and upgrade the performance of the hotel through dissemination of information, explaining new directions, and training initiatives
- Manage hotel revenue and yield in line with market demand and forecast
- Review and implement strategies to maximise sales
- Investigate security breaches, completing relevant forms and advising relevant authorities using the correct legal process
- Act as the escalation point for patron grievances
- Review, analyse and respond to customer feedback
- Asset and Financial Management
- Implement and monitor rosters and occupancy to ensure sufficient coverage within budgetary requirements
- Ensure that financial policies of the hotel are upheld and handle guest queries with regarding credit matter and report any discrepancies
- Issue floats and keys in accordance with hotel procedures
- Manage the hotel's assets in all areas to protect their long term investment value
- Ensure the security, safety and storage of hotel assets, stock, cash and intellectual property
Skills and experience
- Minimum relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma Qualification;
- RSA;
- RSG;
- RMLV & Approved Manager's Licence (or willingness to obtain);
- Minimum 2 years of relevant employment experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stay calm in difficult situations
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to manage time and work under pressure to meet deadlines
