About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Café Cook to work in our newly refurbished Café at Glenhaven Greens. You will be responsible for preparing high standard meals to our residents, their families and visitors.
Working closely with the Café coordinator and Catering Services, you will create the Café menu by identifying customer preferences and providing options and variety with consideration for nutritional content.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting with the ordering of provisions for the Café, stock-take, purchase requisitions and maintenance requests;
- Assisting with the processing orders for raw ingredients, dry stores and Catering Services products;
- Contribute to efficient financial functioning of the Café by monitoring and meeting budget targets;
- Resource internal and externally sources to ultimately provide the best value and variety for our customers;
- Proactively manage customer queries and complaints;
- Contribute to the maintenance of optimum food quality by checking ingredients, monitoring preparation, cooking and storage procedures;
- Contribute to a hygienic work environment by cleaning and sanitising equipment, floors and work areas at front and back of Café;
- Ensuring that safety (WHS), health, hygiene and cleanliness standards set by Anglicare are maintained.
Hours available: 15 hours/week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Skills, knowledge and experience needed
- Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience Preferred.
- Good communication and organisation skills.
