Southern Cross Care QLD is a not-for-profit provider of quality aged care, disability care and independent living in South East Queensland. As a Cook, you will prepare and cook nutritious meals for our residents in accordance with the requirements of the Food Safety Program. You will also be responsible for stock control, ordering produce and maintenance of equipment.

We are currently recruiting for Casual Cooks at Residential Aged Care facility based at Stretton. Variety of shifts across a 14 day roster

More about you: 

• You will demonstrate compassion, sensitivity and maturity to provide high quality meals
• Attention to detail and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
• Cooks must have a Certificate in Cookery
• Experience in Aged Care environment.
• Must be flexible with start time and days (including weekend). Also be able to work on-call shifts at late notice
• Shift start times can be any of the following 6:30am to 1pm, 7am to Midday, 7am to 1pm, 9am to 1pm & 3pm to 7pm – Must be able to work all listed shift times
• Experience in a similar role or commercial kitchen
• Available to start ASAP
• Good knowledge of food safety (preferable HACCP)
• Demonstrated experience in a hygiene controlled environment
• Knowledge of WH&S and handling of food
• Current Police Check Certificate
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to manage your time effectively
