Rydges Hotels and Resorts proudly operate Rydges Fortitude Valley in the historic Brisbane Showgrounds.  The property boasts 208 guest rooms & suites, 3 conference & events spaces, as well as a 120 seat restaurant & lounge bar which feature alfresco dining and an ideally positioned outside bar.  The hotel is a key component of the Brisbane Showground's much publicised redevelopment complimenting the world–class Royal International Convention Centre and forming part of the city's most exciting new lifestyle destination development "King Street".

 

As a Duty Manager you'll have a key role in ensuring the efficiency of operations, safety and security in the Hotel and be the first point of contact in the absence of senior managers.  This role is essential in ensuring the Hotel complies with all brand standards, policies and procedures.  This role is Front Office based and ideally suitable for an experienced hospitality professional with strong career aspirations.

 

To be successful in this role you will be reliable, hardworking individual who will possess the following skills:

  • Previous experience in managing or supervising staff
  • Ability to perform all Front Office / Reception procedures
  • Proficiency in Opera Property Management System
  • Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customer, colleagues and senior managers
  • Exception personal presentations and pride in your workplace
  • Ability to think on your feet and work well under pressure
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
  • RMLV licence (desirable)
  • The ability to work in and lead in a strong team-focussed environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Impeccable communication skills
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise tasks to manage time effectively
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem solving skills
