Job Summary & Responsibilities

Cater Care are seeking a Casual Catering Assistant for ongoing work at our Prestigious Aged Care facility in Caravonica, Cairns.

The key to our success is our people and your role in this environment is to provide friendly, attentive and efficient service to our valued residents. Your role will involve delivering fresh cooked meals from the kitchen to dining areas and residents rooms within the facility, plating up and serving the residents, and cleaning up after service including: cleaning dining rooms, dishwashing, stock control and general cleaning of kitchens.

Please note: successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police Clearance

Roster: various days and hours available across 7 days

Key Responsibilities:

Exceptional customer service, serving food to elderly residents
Delivery of special diets and diet requirements including allergies/intolerances, supplements and texture modified soft & purees
General cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas
Extensive dishwashing
Compliance to food safety hygiene and food handling/preparation procedures
Ability to work in busy, fast paced and physically demanding kitchen environments

Key Attributes required:

Availability to work various days and hours
Good customer service and strong communication skills
Previous experience within Aged Care food service or working with vulnerable persons
Food handling Certificate or equivalent experience
Ability to work independently, yet as part of a team

Successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar role working in Aged Care, Health or hospitals, be well presented and self-motivated with a strong focus on customer care.
