Bar Manager Brisbane City

We are seeking a highly professional, dedicated and experienced Bar Manager who is willing to take ownership of all aspects of the position to ensure that patrons receive excellent drinks, food and service. You will be in charge of all aspects of managing the bar side of the venue including stock control and stock take, planning promotional events and functions, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contacts, create schedules and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. To become a part of our team we are seeking someone with a positive attitude, great communicator, quick problem solving skills, understanding of business financial requirements and always working in the best interest of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all business aspects of the bar, such as keeping all records up to date, negotiating with suppliers to maximise purchasing power, wage cost control, product selection to maximise profits while fitting with our specific cliental.
• Hiring and training staff to continue to build on our strong team.
• Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
• Ensuring all documents and records are up to date.
• Efficient staffing and rostering.
• Accountability for all stock, money and infrastructure. 
• Planning and running promotional events.
• Diffusing situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons if needed.
• Maintaining a enjoyable, fun and safe atmosphere for staff and patrons
• Designing drink menus to fit our margins
• Maximise sales and profitability

Requirements

• At least 2 years experience in a similar roll.
• References from your current or most recent employer.
• A strong understanding of business management and financial operations in the hospitality industry.
• Be contactable 7 days per week to fill any duties necessary.
• Able to work late nights.
• Be able to travel to the inner city in short notice when required.
• Money handling, tracking and accounting for any amounts that do not balance.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk, stand and occasionally carry heavy items in line with our OH&S policies during peak times.
• Non Smoker
