A fantastic opportunity for a skilled and experienced Chef to join Mures Upper Deck as we continue to build on our great legacy.
As Upper Deck Sous Chef you will share our passion for the finest, freshest, local, seasonal produce with a focus on Tasmanian and Australian Seafood.
Reporting to Head Chef Markella Koutalidi you will be responsible for supporting her in running all aspects of this a la carte kitchen and taking full ownership of all areas in her absence.
- You will be fully committed to the role and developing the business to the next level.
- You will have demonstrated technical ability and be a strong leader who can help to embed the required behaviours and standards in all areas of the kitchen.
- Following direction from the Head Chef you will work within the team to ensure a productive and efficient kitchen that only offers the highest quality of product to our guests.
This role will be suited to a current Sous Chef or an experienced senior CDP who is ready to take the next step in their development. You must be passionate about produce and driving high standards and have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
• Stock ordering and management
• Mentoring and staff development
• Effective problem resolution
• Delivery of a consistently high standard of product
• WHS and Food Safety management
• Understanding of or experience in managing labour budgets
You will also have:
• Effective leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Minimum Cert III Commercial Cookery or equivalent
