DPV Health is a Health Service that provides a range of primary health, dental, disability, population health and social support services to the growing communities of the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The Position

This role forms part of the trial to introduce case management and small amounts of brokerage assistance capacity to tailor responses to individual perpetrators and address complex needs such as AoD misuse, mental health, physical health and homelessness to increase the safety of victim survivors.

The position will be located either within the planned NEMA Support & Safety Hub or Hume Moreland Multi Agency Triage site (to be determined) and work closely alongside DPV Health male Family Violence practitioners based there also and DPV Health MBCP facilitators/assessors based at DPV Health sites.

Key Selection Criteria

We are looking for individuals who want to be part of this exciting sector change development with:

  • A Bachelor degree in Social Work or similar Tertiary qualification.
  • Case Management qualifications and recent experience
  • Eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body.
  • No To Violence (NTV) Graduate certificate Social Science (Male Family Violence) or Male perpetrator support/intervention experience
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated use of risk assessment frameworks including the Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF), in the context of families experiencing family violence.
  • Knowledge, skills and prior experience providing family violence or related services to men, and/or family violence services to women and children, or willingness to participate in training, mentoring and supervision to enhance this knowledge.
  • An understanding of the social and gendered context of family violence and the impact of violence on women and children.
  • The ability to apply a flexible, non-judgemental and empowering approach to assessment and response.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team member as well as independently.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Integrated Family Violence Service System.
  • Experience in partnership work with an ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships with stakeholders.
