The Women and Infants Research Foundation, closely affiliated with King Edward Memorial Hospital, has been a beacon for scientific discovery, development and health improvement for over 40 years. The Foundation has a specific objective to promote and enable high-quality research, foster new researchers, ad boasts an internationally recognised research program in perinatal medicine.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Research/Project Coordinator to assist in coordinating the early stages of the long-term follow-up of young adults born very preterm who were originally enrolled in a total birth-cohort study from 1990 - 1992 (Preterm Infant Follow-up Study, PIFS). With some 200 participants already consented to be involved, the Research Coordinator will be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in the area.
As initial point of contact for the project, the part-time role includes the following responsibilities:
- Study protocol and ethics applications
- Set up and maintenance of data files
- Coordinating data collection on first 200 participants
- Administrative support associated with the project including coordinating and scheduling meetings
- Further recruitment and associated administration
- Liaison with Raine Study
- Data Linkage Application
- NHMRC or other appropriate applications for grant support
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have a Masters' qualification and an undergraduate degree in Psychology or related discipline. You will be able to demonstrate skills in the responsibilities listed above plus:
- Sound knowledge of research systems
- Exceptional written communication skills
- High level organisational and planning skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- A flexible approach to a varied role of administrative, operational, research and communication with others to achieve desired outcomes.
Experience in the clinical research in human studies while not essential would be a distinct advantage.
