Principal House Officer, PGY4+
Location: QLD, Central
Start: ASAP, Temporary FT (12 months), multiple positions available
Remuneration: $105- $116K salary,up to $132k total Package
The Hospital and Health Service is situated in a coastal town in Central Queensland, Australia. Renowned for its beaches, tropical climate, and the islands out on the bay. Twenty-five minutes from the nearest city with a principal town on the coast, a string of seaside communities stretching more than 150 kilometres from north to south, in which approximately 25,000 people live.
Services provided range across 24 Hour Emergency Medical Services, Acute Inpatient Services, Rehabilitation Inpatient Services, Palliative Inpatient Services, Women and Family Health Programs, Midwifery Services, Obstetric Clinics, Child Health Services and more.
As a PHO you will provide high quality medical services to the hospital and health Service to ensure 24-hour coverage. You will be required to provide medical services to the Inpatient Wards and Emergency Department under direct and/or indirect supervision of the Senior Medical staff involved. To assist and support more junior staff in those areas. Principal House Officers may be required to provide support to other health facilities within the Central Queensland
Applications will have:
- Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- MBBS or equivalent to be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Current ALS and APSL.
- While not mandatory, EMST, ACLS, PALS, EEM will be to your advantage.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a ‘C’ Class motor vehicle
