This is supported by our introduction of St John Urgent Care Centres – currently operating in our Joondalup, Armadale and Cockburn clinics, which accept walk in unscheduled care patients, as well as providing comprehensive health care services.

A job to be proud of:

This permanent full time role of Assistant Practice Manager (Second in Charge) at our Joondalup GP, Dental and Urgent Care practice will report to the Practice Manager and ensure the practice runs smoothly meeting required KPI’s. You will assist in managing a very busy, complex practice which includes Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Radiographers and Administration staff and allied health services.

You will assist with rostering of staff and manage the Medical and Dental reception team in the delivery of a great customer experience for all internal and external clients, and work cohesively with the Clinical Nurse Lead and members of the St John Health management team. You will work an average of 38 hours per week.

What you’ll do:

  • Planning and communication of roster arrangements fortnightly
  • Optimising patient retention with the delivery of excellent customer service
  • Management of administration and communications throughout the centre
  • Approval of timesheets and leave requests ensuring operational requirements are met
  • Order supplies within budgetary and operational requirements
  • Conduct Performance reviews and provide feedback to employees
  • Involvement in and preparation for accreditation
  • Ensure bookings, billings and batching are completed within set KPI’s
  • Liaise with internal and external stake holders
  • Provide administration support to centre and back while employees are on leave

What you’ll need:

  • Experience managing a team and training others in a busy medical or dental centre
  • Strong IT skills with the Microsoft office suite and Internet-based research
  • Excellent rapport building and communication skills on all levels and mediums
  • Excellent knowledge of Medicare requirements including PIP and SIP
  • High level of numeracy including budget and financial experience
  • A team player with excellent leadership and multi-tasking abilities who understands efficient operations in a GP setting
  • CPR and First Aid Certificates (desirable)
  • Involvement in accreditation and experience using Best Practice (desirable)
  • You will be a well presented, punctual, resilient and honest self-starter who can show initiative and a high level of empathy
  • If successful you will be required to gain a National Police Clearance (gained in the past 3 months)
