The Position
St John of God Social Outreach, Raphael Service provides support and specialised mental health services to parents and families where the parent is experiencing a perinatal infant mental health problem and/or where there are parent-infant relationship issues. The service is based in the community and provided at no cost to clients.
We have a unique opportunity to work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team in the provision of integrated care to women, their infants, partners and families experiencing perinatal and infant mental health problems.
The successful applicant will be a skilled clinician experienced in perinatal infant mental health assessment and the treatment of anxiety and depression.
This position will be offered on a temporary 12 month contract covering parental leave.
A view to permanency will be strongly considered after this time.
Working either 60 or 45 hours per fortnight.
The successful candidate will have:
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- Recognised qualification in clinical psychology/psychology and current registration with AHPRA.
- Currently hold or eligible for Medicare provider number.
- Demonstrated high level of ability and experience providing a range of psychotherapeutic intervention to individuals, families and groups.
- Knowledge and application of the Mental Health Act, National Mental Health Standards, ethical principles and legislation governing professional practice.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills at an individual and team level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively liaise with referrers and other service providers.
- Ability to organise and prioritise work.
