St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne has extended its trusted, state of the art health care services to Melbourne’s west, and our Werribee facility has been open since January 2018.

St Vincent's Private Werribee is a not-for-profit, private Catholic hospital. We provide the highest quality healthcare within modern facilities and the latest technology. St Vincent's Private Hospital Werribee is the fourth hospital to open under the umbrella of St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne, a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.

The Services available in our Werribee private hospital include obstetrics, orthopaedics, cardiology, ear nose and throat, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, vascular, rehabilitation and oncology/infusions. Facilities include operating theatres, a day procedure unit, a cardiac catheter laboratory, oncology/infusion unit, 2 wards, delivery suites and a level 1 special care nursery and newly opened rehabilitation gymnasium.

Reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), we have an exciting opportunity available for a highly motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join the leadership team at our Werribee hospital on a part time basis.

It is essential that the successful applicant has the following;

  • Experience coordinating nursing and midwifery teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and support clinical teams to optimise customer and organisational outcomes
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Willingness to undertake further studies or to pursue other self-development activities.
  • Has completed, or is working towards, the achievement of Post graduate qualifications (Degree/Diploma) in the relevant clinical specialty
  • Current Registered Nurse registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

The successful applicant will be responsible for;

  • Providing direction, support and advice to nursing staff and other support personnel
  • Promoting flexibility from staff in order to meet the demands of the department
  • Providing professional leadership and the maintenance of clinical standards and quality care
  • Constructively supporting the leadership of the NUM and assumeing the responsibilities of the NUM in the absence of the NUM
  • Fostering effective working relationships with staff, customers, patients and Accredited Medical Practitioners
  • Liaising with the Clinical Co-ordinator and NUM to manage patient workload and staffing requirements on a shift-by-shift basis
  • Ensuring that the philosophy and values of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne are inherent in the delivery of health care
