About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists to join our growing team of trans-disciplinary specialists as an Occupational Therapist based within our School Age Service, based in East Fremantle.  The Occupational Therapist will work as part of a team, to develop and implement therapy goals to maximise participation of the individual across home, school and community environments.

The successful applicant will enjoy a varied portfolio of responsibilities that includes: caseload management; developing individualised plans for school-aged clients; behavioural assessment; designing and implementing skill development and positive behaviour support strategies; and providing specialist consultancy and training in the areas of fine and gross motor development/self-care/functional skill development/environmental access and sensory processing.

Essential Criteria:

•              A Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) and full registration with AHPRA.

•              Demonstrated experience in working in the field of disability

•              Experience in managing a caseload

•              A sound understanding of contemporary approaches to behaviour management e.g. Positive Behaviour Support

•              Excellent written communication, including report writing.

Desirable:

•              Experience in working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder

•              Theoretical understanding of Autism and implications for Occupational Therapy.
