Bendigo Health’s Medical Imaging Department requires a qualified Medical Imaging Technologist to join the imaging team.
The position is offered on a full time permanent basis and the suitable applicant will be exposed to flexible working arrangements which includes weekends, shifts and recalls.
The position is open to junior MITs that are willing to commit to Bendigo Health and undergo any required training.
The Position
The Grade 2 Medical Imaging Technologist will be required to perform a full range of diagnostic Imaging examinations to a consistently high standard using a patient focused approach. They will be a mentor to under graduate students and to other Imaging staff. The role will see a rotation through a number of modalities including General, CT, and the Cathlab. For those interested in breast imaging access to our breast screen service may be considered. Bendigo Health also offers pathways into ultrasound and MRI.
As a member of the Medical Imaging team the Grade 2 Medical Imaging Technologist will demonstrate an additional degree of competence and ability to work independently without supervision reflecting a level of continuing education and practical experience.
The Medical Imaging Department
Bendigo Health’s imaging department performs over a 100,000 examinations annually using modern equipment located within our new, spacious and purpose built facility. Our equipment includes CT Scanners x 2, DR Rooms x 5, Fluoroscopy Unit, Ultrasound units x 8, Mammography, Cathlabs x 2, Mobile II x 3, and MRI Units x 2.
