About Monash Health

Monash Health Nephrology is one of largest nephrology departments in Australia and has plans for future expansion. Our Haemodialysis Satellite Unit is located at Thomas Street, Dandenong and comprises of 21chairs, two shifts, Monday to Saturday. Our team also provides haemodialysis three times a week to inpatients at the Dandenong Hospital within West 4. We are now looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in a full time, permanent role.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled Registered Nurse to take a lead in supporting the team's clinical skills development.  As a clinical expert in haemodialysis, your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • accountability for conducting professional activities to support service delivery to our patients;
  • identifying and conducting skills enhancement activities to further develop and upskill team members; and 
  • through your behaviour, demonstrating leadership and role modelling at a level consistent with and expected of a role at this level. 

Our team includes nurses with varying levels of experience including some recent graduates. Working with a focus on continuous improvement, the team is open to embracing change to ensure the delivery of the highest evidence based practice to our patients. You will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive patient focused outcomes.

While working mostly at our Thomas Street site, you will also work regularly at Dandenong Hospital, on a rotational basis for two weeks every couple of months.

About you

You are a genuinely passionate and caring person who is highly committed to delivering exceptional care within a fast-paced & dynamic environment.  Haemodialysis is your expertise and you are looking to share your skills and knowledge in this specialty. We look to you for sound knowledge in renal dialysis nursing, as well as using your strong interpersonal skills to rapidly build rapport with others and share your expertise.

You have:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated clinical skills; significant experience in haemodialysis and recent acute experience an advantage
  • Membership of the relevant professional association 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations readily and the ability to think laterally
  • A commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with a team 
  • Flexibility to support our renal services at two campuses on a regular basis
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical education
