Position Overview: Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse will be required to provide contemporary and appropriate primary health care services to the dependant female population within the Melaleuca Remand and Reintegration Facility (MRRF). The Registered Nurse will provide the necessary support and guidance in relation to all healthcare matters, contributing to the improvement of overall health outcomes of the recipients. 

Essential Skills and Qualification

  • Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent.
  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated experience commensurate with a role in any of the following clinical settings: Primary Health Care, Emergency Care, Mental Health, Women’s Health, Chronic Disease Management, and/or Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Services.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical practice in one or more of the above settings in the past 12 months.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision in a multi-disciplinary and team environment, demonstrating initiative and flexibility in a clinical environment subject to change.
  • Eligible to obtain relevant security clearances.
  • Previous experience working in a correctional facility – desirable but not necessary.
