What does a Dispensary Pharmacist do?
The Dispensary Pharmacist is responsible for providing medicines and health information to customers with accuracy and efficiency.
What’s required to be a Dispensary Pharmacist?
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Current General Registration as a pharmacist (without conditions or undertakings) with AHPRA, is required
- Clear and effective communication skills, with an attention to detail
- Retail Pharmacy industry experience
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this job
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Dispensary Pharmacist works to facilitate provision of great health care and service to our customers by ensuring that they are provided with the right medication and the best possible advice at every visit. While the Dispensary Pharmacist is expected to dispense and pack dose administration aids, they still have a major focus of ensuring that all patients are counselled on their medicines at every opportunity. Other tasks the Dispensary Pharmacist is responsible for may include:
- Prepare prescriptions accurately and efficiently and confirm accuracy of prescriptions dispensed by non-pharmacists
- Check accuracy of Dose Administration Aids packed by non-pharmacists
- Provide counselling and advice to consumers for both their medicine (both prescribed and over the counter) and their medical conditions
- Adhere to all TerryWhite Chemmart, QCPP and relevant policy and procedures
- Execute Health and Professional Services to the highest standard.
- Replenish and coordinate stock
- Attend and contribute to all team meetings
- Be trained in vaccination
- Proficient with Minfos
- Meet KPI’s – be able to fulfil targets set for 6CPA programs including MedsCheck/Diabetes MedsCheck, Clinical Interventions, Staged supply
- Consult customers in a friendly, professional and timely fashion
Culture, Reward & Remuneration
This role is fixed term for 7 to 8 months, full time to start mid-August.
At the end of contract a PPT role may be available for suitable candidates.
