About Department
The Occupational Therapy Department provides a Grade 1 Rotation Program across acute, sub-acute and community programs. The department has a strong culture of working closely within a multidisciplinary team to provide a quality allied health service that focuses on client centred practice, and that promotes Occupational Justice whilst incorporating the mission and values of the Sisters of Charity.
About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 1 Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team in a full time permanent role. The position will be working in the acute neurology & neurosciences stream, with the support of a Grade 2 full time therapist and Grade 3 stream leader. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of a high quality occupational therapy service within a multidisciplinary team to inpatients of St.Vincent’s.
Duties
- Provide optimal Occupational Therapy clinical management to patients in the inpatient setting
- Plan and implement appropriate treatment plans from established Occupational performance goals using best practice principles and evidence-based practice
- Promote patient flow and discharge planning as per patient goals and multidisciplinary team Ensure effective management of Occupational Therapy aids and equipment to maximise patient independence and safety
- Contribute to the planning and development of activities and services of the Occupational Therapy Service
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Current Occupational Therapy Registration
- Current Victorian Driver’s license
- Demonstrated evidence of knowledge, skills and attitudes deemed essential to provide safe and competent practice to patients as a new graduate, based upon the Australian Minimum Competency Standards for New Graduate Occupational Therapists (2010)
- To be successful you will need to have a Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent, and have current AHPRA registration.
