Ward Clerk (Weekends and public holidays) Employment Type: Casual Position Classification: Administration Officer Level 2 Remuneration: $52,950.81 - $54,813.59 Requisition ID: REQ54944 Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing Applications are invited for the position of Ward Clerk/Administration Officer for the busy Ward Clerk Support Team at Westmead Hospital. This is a casual position and encompasses working between the hours of 8.00am to 4.30pm from Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. The occasional Monday and/or Friday from 07.30am to 4.00pm may be required. The position requires a highly organised and self-motivated person who can capably manage a diverse range of clerical duties at ward level. A demonstrated ability to work independently and with flexibility within a team environment is required whilst providing support to the Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. Responsibilities include reception of patients, relatives and staff, answering telephone enquiries, maintaining filing and patient records, data entry, making appointments and assisting the Nursing Unit Manager/Team Leader with administrative and clerical duties. The Ward Clerk records essential patient data related to patient admission/transfers and discharge transactions, including patient file management. All tasks are essential to accurate billing of patient medical history. Maintains the tidiness of the Ward / Unit reception area. Maintain supply of stationary under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM). Works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning and implementation of clerical systems within the unit. Ensures optimal outcomes for patients and clients of the service through the promotion of best practice. Demonstrate extensive receptionist/customer service skills. Demonstrated excellent clerical organisational and time management skills. Demonstrated effective communication skills - verbal and written, with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team situation.
