Our client is one of the most prominent Aged Care service providers in Victoria and Tasmania. They have a portfolio of Residential Aged Care facilities established already, with new ones set to open next year in Melbourne. Their community care and home care programs continue to grow and develop, as they are moving through an exciting journey of business growth.

They are a prominent and caring Not-for-Profit organisation with an outstanding reputation, based on care and compassion and have been supporting their clients and communities for well over a decade.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Care Manager to be appointed at their Latrobe residential aged care facility in Tasmania.

The Senior Care Manager will support and partner with the Facility Manager, in delivering an exceptional care strategy across this welcoming and professionally presented 37 bed facility, which also has a planned extension of another 31 beds currently under development.

The successful applicant will be an accomplished and experienced Clinical Leader and a fully qualified Registered Nurse, who is already well versed in quality people leadership in aged care, and who can demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making skills.

The appointed applicant will be a strong clinical educator, having already managed and developed strong and cohesive teams, including Care Managers and Registered and Enrolled Endorsed Nurses around clinical, care and quality management.

The facility boasts a positive culture and supportive and caring environment for both employees and clients. Their last accreditation was just over two months ago and saw them achieve an excellent outcome with all 44 standards met.

The ideal applicant will possess the following:

  • 3-4 years of experience leading clinical care teams in residential aged care.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring a clinical care team.
  • Effective management of employee performance appraisals and well versed in goal setting and discussing performance effectively with their team.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a positive culture, leading to improved employee engagement and performance.
  • Experience in creating and delivering a formal education and training program and calendar, to ensure clinical staff are developed and fully competent around all care and clinical governance requirements.
  • Experience with successfully recruiting and selecting care and clinical staff
  • Exceptional relationship and conflict management skills, with the ability to navigate and manage resident and family complaints. The ability to develop excellent rapport with residents and their families.
  • Proven experience in preparing for and managing successful Accreditation and Quality and Compliance reviews, including announced and unannounced audits.
  • Experience with ACFI management, including compliance, assessment and care plans and documentation, to ensure all residents are receiving effective care funding levels.
  • Australian nursing qualification and AHPRA registration for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Develop and maintain community engagement and professional relationships with collaborating external bodies, including Allied Health, Hospitals and relevant community organisations.
  • Availability for some on-call requirement
